Elemental Magic
There are four spheres of elemental magic, each based in one of the primary elements: fire, water, earth, air. Each elemental magic spell
is associated with one of these magic spheres and shares certain inherent attributes with other magic from that sphere. All elemental magic
does damage to an enemy in battle.
- Fire - Fire magic is both quick and deadly. The flame elementals prefer their targets to be close, but safely out of
striking distance. Fire spells strike with sure power, and have a reasonable range.
- Earth - Earth magic is dependable and deadly. It calls the force of the elemental plane of earth to strike powerfully
against opponents, and few targets live to tell their tale. However, the dependable and sure earth moves slowly and insures every
step, and the magic from this plane rarely reaches very far away.
- Air - The air elementals are known to be whimsical and playful. They move with speed and precision, but do not have the
strength of the other elements. Expect spells borne from the plane of wind to attack distant targets with accuracy and precision,
and wear your enemy down before engaging in combat.
- Water - Water magic is much like the magic of air, preferring long range attacks. However, the water elementals strike
with more power, and draw their enemies closer than their air brethren.
Non Elemental Magic
In addition to the elemental magic spheres, there are two other spheres of magic: astral and divination. These sphers differ from
the elemental magic in their basic form and function.
- Astral - Astral magic is chaotic and powerful, and few dare to tame it with their will. The astral mage casts spells
much different from the elemental counterparts in that these cosmic forces strike large areas of the battlefield, thrashing foes
and sparing friends. Astral magic generally does less damage than elemental magic, but will hit all opponents within a
given distance of the target. They also have an unlimited range.
- Divine - Divination spells heal and protect. They benefit all allies, and will heal damage, bless attacks, and defend
friends. Divination magi are usually referred to as high priests or clerics.
