Skill Points
Skill points are a way to evolve your character in specific ways other than just the couple basic statistics. Through the assigning of skill points you can make your character much more deadly with a bow, adept at using magic to harm or heal, or even make your character resistant to the elements! Your skill becomes more effective with each skill point you add. Each skill has a predetermined maximum value that you cannot increase beyond.

Each time you evolve you will also gain hard set skill points in addition to your assignable skill point. These are skill points that are automatically assigned based on your new class. For example, a ghost automatically receives 2 skill points in Resistance: Physical.

To view your skills and assign skill points, use the "view skills" button on the character screen below your character's statistic chart. There you will see a list and description of every available skill. We may add more as the FMO world grows. Some notes on skills:

  • Skill points in magic let you use a scroll of that level, but you still must find a scroll first. Assigning skill points to magic does not cause your character to learn a spell
  • All magic damages enemies except divination. Divine magic only works to heal allies and increase their effectiveness in battle.
  • Resistance causes you to receive less damage in battle. For instance, Resistance: Fire will help you when fighting a Fire Drake. However, nearly a third of all enemies still use purely physical attacks.
  • Daily skill points let you assign your character to a daily activity. See the section on daily activities to learn how this works.
